Vice President, Software Engineering

Job Summary 

The person in this role will be responsible for leading and overseeing all aspects of the software engineering process for Epiq’s Class Action and Remediation business unit. The primary goal will be to drive innovation, enhance software quality, and ensure timely delivery of software solutions that meet the organization's needs and exceed user expectations.  To accomplish this goal will require close collaboration with cross-functional teams, including software development, product management. infrastructure, cybersecurity, and business stakeholders, to develop and execute product strategies that align with the company's objectives and drive business growth.

Essential Job Responsibilities:


  • Develop and implement software engineering strategies in alignment with the Epiq Class Action and Remediation business unit’s overall goals and objectives.

  • Define and maintain the application roadmap, identifying key milestones, timelines, and resource requirements.

  • Lead and motivate the team(s) of software developers, architects, testing resources and other stakeholders to drive software innovation, quality and speed of delivery..

  • Collaborate closely with product management, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and business teams to ensure seamless coordination throughout the software engineering lifecycle.

  • Define clear software technical requirements and specifications based on user feedback, business objectives, and technology trends.

  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify emerging technology trends, user needs, and competitive landscape to inform software engineering decisions.

  • Oversee the creation of application prototypes and manage the testing process to validate product concepts and iterate on designs.

  • Implement robust quality assurance processes to ensure that software products meet the highest standards of quality, security, and reliability.

  • Monitor and track the progress of software engineering projects, identifying and addressing any issues or bottlenecks that may arise.

  • Identify potential risks and challenges in the software engineering process and develop mitigation strategies to minimize impact.

  • Ensure that products comply with relevant regulatory requirements, industry standards, and internal policies.

  • Communicate software engineering updates, milestones, and challenges to senior management, key leaders, and other stakeholders.

  • Manage the software engineering budget effectively, allocating resources efficiently to maximize ROI.

Qualifications and Skills:


  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field (MBA preferred).

  • 12+ years’ relevant experience in roles with increasing responsibility, including leading large global teams.

  • Demonstrated strong collaboration, teamwork and relationship-building skills across multiple levels and functions in a global organization.

  • Demonstrated ability to interact with, and influence, C-level executives to drive business value.

  • Solid understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and Agile /Scrum development methodologies

  • Deep understanding of IT systems, software development methodologies, infrastructure technologies, cybersecurity principles, and emerging technologies.

  • Strong strategic planning and analytical skills, with the ability to translate product vision into actionable plans.

  • Results-driven mindset with a track record of delivering product on time and within budget.

  • Proven record of outstanding verbal and written communication skills, clearly communicating technical projects effectively to senior executives and a non-technical audience.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic business environment and adapt to changing priorities.
