Westminster Communities of Florida is seeking to fill an Inventory Technician in its Pharmacy located in Orlando, Florida. This position is responsible for accurately and timely filling residents’ medication in accordance with company policy and current laws and regulations.. We honor those who serve.
Scope of Responsibilities:
Purchasing of all prescription and non-prescription inventory
Management of inventory to meet inventory turn standards.
Management of inventory to meet days on hand standards.
Maintenance of pharmacy software formulary to include ensuring all tracking information such as product, NDC and pricing information is accurate.
Maintain knowledge of wholesaler databases.
Communicate with primary and secondary wholesaler representatives.
Maintain accurate on-hand inventory for the pharmacy and all off-site medication storage locations
Orders and shelves medications to ensure medications are in-stock for our residents
Order stock items necessary for pharmacy operations
Maintains and orders medication canisters and parts as necessary for pharmacy automation
Receives medication deliveries, stock shelves, remove out of date product and process medication returns
Maintains process for Medication Recalls
Processes medication returns and credits including managing the inventory of saleable returns
Performs regular reconciliation of medications and communicates any drug shortages and discrepancies to appropriate staff.
Responsible for returns of expired/unsaleable products
Prepares medications including emulsions, liquids, powders, ointments and sterile IV products
Maintain packaging equipment for calibration and perform daily maintenance tasks on pharmacy automation
Maintain appropriate levels of medication pre-packaging and inventory for pharmacy automation
Timely and accurately fill resident medication orders in accordance with State Board of Pharmacy regulations
Properly prepare orders for final delivery
Keep all pharmacy work areas clean
Complies with all HIPAA regulations
Effectively and harmoniously interacts with facilities, physicians, and other pharmacy employees at all levels; promoting teamwork and demonstrating strong leadership skills and professionalism.
Communicates effectively with residents, families, staff, services and government agencies.
Various reports as requested by management, customers and residents.
Schedule may include weekends and/or nights
Maintains adherence to company policies and procedures, department requirements, safety standards and good housekeeping practices
Other duties as assigned or requested by management
Essential Qualifications:
Current State Pharmacy Technician license and certification.
High School Diploma or equivalent GED
1-3 years Long Term Care Pharmacy Technician experience
Medical Terminology required
Order Entry and insurance billing experience preferred
