Job Description:

The Department of Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences (SLHS) at Purdue University-West Lafayette invites applications and nominations of candidates holding an AuD, CCC-A or PhD, CCC-A for the position of Clinical Assistant Professor in Audiology. The position is a full-time, 12-month appointment with an anticipated start date of August 1, 2024.

SLHS is a national leader in clinical education and research and offers an undergraduate degree (BS) and graduate degrees (AuD, MS-SLHS, and PhD). The Departments graduate programs in audiology (AuD) and Speech-Language Pathology (MS-SLHS) consistently rank in the top 10 nationally, according to U.S. News and World Report. SLHS is a diverse and collegial department with 20 research/tenure-track and 15 clinical faculty members. Our large on-campus audiology clinic serves the community with services that include: pediatric and adult diagnostic and intervention services, vestibular evaluations, a cochlear implant clinic, and a hearing conservation program. SLHS enjoys excellence and distinction in all of its programs, supports faculty development through scholarship, and promotes engagement state-wide, nationally, and internationally. Clinical faculty are full members of the SLHS faculty and are expected to demonstrate excellence in the areas of clinical practice and education. Primary responsibilities include providing clinical education and mentorship to students, classroom teaching, and direct clinical services to clients and their families. Opportunities exist for interprofessional education and practice, clinical research, and collaboration with academic faculty. Three years of clinical experience and ASHA CCC-A, Indiana Audiology licensure, and Indiana early intervention certification (First Steps) is required; clinical supervision experience preferred.
