CITY COMPTROLLER
The city of Lackawanna is actively recruiting to fill the position of City Comptroller.
This position is the citys Chief Fiscal Officer overseeing activities of the Division of Accounts and Control.Specific responsibilities include the maintenance of all municipal accounting records, auditing of claims against the City and preparation of payrolls for all city employees. This position is also responsible for preparing various complex and important reports relating to the citys financial status.
Qualified candidates must possess a thorough knowledge of modern municipal accounting principles and practices and familiarity with the organization and functions of City government. Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered 4-year college or university with a bachelors degree including or supplemented by the completion of 24 credit hours in accounting and 4 years of satisfactory full-time paid accounting or auditing experience is required. Possession of a CPA license issued by the New York State Department of Education required at the time of application.
Salary range $82,500 95,500 based on experience and qualifications.
