Credit Union in Great Falls with over six different branches is looking for a Controller to join their team. Reporting directly to the CEO, the Controller will take full ownership and responsibility for all aspects of accounting and finance. This is a longstanding credit union with excellent ties to the community it services. The company has very little turnover (most people on the leadership team have been there 10+ years) so this is a rare opportunity to join the organization. This is a key role for the organization, and it offers a lot of room to grow internally.
What You'll Actually Do:
Lead and manage the accounting department
Present financial statements and investment recommendations to the Board
Implement standardized accounting procedures
Help manage the Federal Reserve and manage the day-to-day cash flow of all locations
Responsible for Monthly ALM preparation (financials, ratios, liquidity, 300 BP rate shocks and more)
Direct a profitable investment of funds for the organization's cash, asset and liability management
Oversee purchases of key investments such as Bonds, CD's, Mortgage-Backed Securities and other items.
Recommend rate changes internally and to ALCO
Ensure organization is compliant with multiple agencies
Perform product profitability to determine what each product produces
Key liaison with outside CPA firm
Ad Hoc as required
To Be Successful in This Role, You Will Need:
BS/BA in Accounting or Finance - CPA is Ideal
5+ years of Credit Union/Banking Experience is required
Strong critical thinking skills
Strong management skill set and communication skills
Banking software experience is preferred
MBA is a plus!
