We have an excellent opportunity for an Manufacturing Engineer to join our team in Lawrenceville, GA and Fremont, CA. Our ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting manufacturing activities that include, but are not limited to process engineering, design of new products, programming, capital equipment identification and justification, analysis and corrective action, cost estimation and quotes, trouble shooting, training of operators and shop supervision.
Responsibilities:
Process Engineering and optimization of manufacturing automation process leading to increased productivity, reduced lead-time and cost
Will work directly with engineering team to determine manufacturing processes and designs required to implement efficient processes
Needs to understand design for manufacturing concepts
Must have the ability to look at drawings and understand what manufacturing processes are required to make the product as it relates to the customer requirements
Will be required to set up routings, cycle times and determine standards for operators
Design and build Jigs and fixtures to be used in machining, robotic welding and assembly
Identify and recommend suitable capital equipment
Will be required to program CNC machines and robots
Cost estimation of manufactured parts
Process or manufacturing data analysis, assist in root cause and corrective actions
Ability to analyze manufacturing date derived from ERP system to identify process improvements
Provide tactical support to manufacturing operations including supervision of shop operations in the absence of the manager
All other duties as assigned
Requirements:
Uses professional concepts and company policies and procedures to solve a wide range of moderately complex problems
Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of critical variable
Must have a strong understanding of Lean concepts
Should have a strong background in fabrication, tolerances and how to optimize equipment to efficiently fabricate parts
Will be involved in the integration and programming of new and existing equipment.
Will work with engineering closely on new product designs utilizing design for manufacturing (DFM)
Will be required to complete routings, update process times and input standards
Normally receives little instruction on routine work and general instructions on new assignments.
Sheetmetal fabrication and machining knowledge or similar experience required
Must be able to work with the ERP system and PLM system
Preferred Education/Certifications:
AS with 3 - 8 year's work experience as a Manufacturing engineer in a similar manufacturing facility.
Knowledge of sheet metal manufacturing using turrets, punches, lasers, brake presses, CNC machining centers and welding is a must.
