Manager, Subcontracts Administration
Job Description:
The Manager, Subcontracts Administration is based out of HITT's HQ in Falls Church, VA. The Manager is an integral part of the Legal & Risk Management department and is responsible for strategic risk management associated with HITT's subcontracting partners across our nationwide operations. Success in this role requires the ability to constantly seek efficiencies and develop processes with the overall objective of supporting operations and mitigating subcontractor-related risks. The Manager, Subcontracts Administration collaborates with Operations, Accounting, and other teams within the Legal & Risk Management department. The ideal candidate is a strong project manager, detail-oriented, organized, high-performing, and has strong customer service skills. This position may be eligible for a hybrid work schedule with up to one day a week of remote work after successful completion of an initial onboarding period.
Responsibilities
Oversees and maintains policies, procedures, tools, and contract templates related to the construction project supply chain, including trade subcontractor Master Service Agreements, vendors, and consultants.
Lead negotiations with subcontractors on subcontract standard terms and conditions
Develop best practices associated with subcontractor management and risk mitigation
Collect, maintain, and analyze subcontractor data and develop standard reporting
Develop and ensure standard best practices, standards, and resources for subcontractor management, including Risk Mitigation Plans
Advises operations and corporate resource team members on subcontract negotiations, small claims, liens and disputes with subcontractors and vendors
Maintain and control costs, as dictated by the departmental budget
Manages a digital Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) platform used for the subcontracting process
Assist with the subcontractor prequalification process, as needed and assigned
Assist with subcontractor relations and supplier diversity initiatives, as needed and assigned
Manages direct reports
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in business, real estate or construction-related field
7-10 years of experience in risk management, contracts administration or construction operations
Experience in the architecture/engineering/construction (AEC) field is desirable, but not required
Ability to understand contractual terms and conditions related to subcontractors and insurance
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required.
Excellent communication skills are required
Experience with leading the implementation of a tool, system, or software.
