About the role
We are seeking a Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) to join our executive team and lead our commercial efforts as we scale our operations. As a key member of the senior management team, the CCO will develop and execute business development strategies. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leading revenue generating activities, including sales, marketing, customer success and retention for an automotive software business.
Key responsibilities
Develop and lead revenue generating strategies to gain new customers and maintain existing customer relationships
Drive the company's revenue goals and develop actionable plans to identify and convert high-value opportunities
Oversee process of onboarding new customers on the B2B marketplace, ensuring a smooth transition and a strong foundation for long-term partnership
Maximize customer retention by leading customer success initiatives that ensure customer satisfaction
Collaborate with product and technical teams to drive development of new features and solutions based on market needs and customer feedback
Credentials, competencies & skills
Minimum qualifications
Experience selling software to automotive companies including OEMs, Tier-1 suppliers, and technology providers
Proven track record of revenue generation, including sales and customer success.
Experience in leading customer success programs with a demonstrated impact on retention and revenue expansion
A comprehensive understanding of the automotive procurement process and how to influence it at various stages
Strong contract negotiation and deal-closing skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Willingness to travel within and outside U.S. for customer meetings, and events
Preferred qualifications
10+ years experience as a CCO, or in a similar senior revenue-focused role within a startup or high-growth environment
Contacts with automotive software procurement teams across OEMs, suppliers and engineering service providers
Strong understanding of technical concepts and the ability to translate these into business opportunities
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field; MBA preferred
Location: Primary responsibilities in Detroit with flexible options available
