Job Description:

Position Title: Human Resource Coordinator

Location: Indianapolis, Indiana

Starting Pay for position: $25 per hour

Position Summary: As a member of the Human Resources Team, you'll play an integral role in shaping the future of Herff Jones. The Human Resources Coordinator will contribute in Herff Jones' recruiting, talent acquisition methods and strategies and design. In this role you will interact and support senior leadership and their departments in fulfilling talent needs in the Fine Papers Plant including, Customer Service, Manufacturing, and Administration. You'll help back up and support all of the HR functions including employee relations, policy and procedure development and administration.

  • Build and promote Herff Jones as an employer of choice when representing career opportunities to top talent.
  • Provide full-service/full-lifecycle recruiting/onboarding to hiring managers and maintain high internal customer satisfaction.
  • Build and demonstrate understanding of company initiatives, style, and culture.
  • Handle and help to resolve entry-level employee relation issues and complaints.
  • First 30 Days: Build rapport with Managers and understand employee roles within the departments. Become familiar with recruiting software and process.
  • First 60 Days: Become the point person for screening, identifying talent, and scheduling interviews for hiring managers and conduct onboarding meetings.
  • First 90 Days: Establish a well-rounded foundation of the recruiting and onboarding process to hit recruiting and retention goals.

Core Activities:


  • Conduct recruiting functions as needed for the plant (posting, sourcing, interviewing, and offer process).
  • Partner with the Corporate recruiting function on industry best practices and Herff Jones process improvements.
  • Review applicants to evaluate position requirements.
  • Manage the selection process to ensure an interview process and proper placement of motivated and qualified candidates is achieved.
  • Support the Human Resources Department with the onboarding of applicants and data entry.
  • Provide support for all aspects of work from the Human Resources department, the human resources manager and Herff Jones leaders and employees.

Success Indicators:

  • 2 years of experience in a recruiting capacity or similar HR role.
  • Must be Bi-lingual in Spanish - REQUIRED
  • Ability and willingness to learn about position requirements.
  • Passion about HR methods.
  • Strong understanding of HR tools such as ATS and HRIS.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Must maintain confidentiality of all information, even when seated in a public space.
  • Must have knowledge of federal and state Human Resource related laws and regulations.
  • Must be comfortable with conflict resolution.
  • Must provide excellent customer service to guests and callers.
  • Must be able to work with people of different cultural, ethnic and religious backgrounds.

Education / Certifications Required:


  • 2 years' experience in the Human Resources field
  • Bachelor's Degree Preferred

Physical Requirements:

While performing he duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands, hear, communicate, read, and move up to 25lbs.
