Position Overview

Be a part of a non-partisan organization dedicated to promoting democracy, human rights, and international cooperation. As the Senior Fellow Indo Pacific, you will have primary responsibility on all projects related to Japan and Korea while conducting research and engaging in fundraising and donor relations in support of the program's work.

Job Summary

The Senior Fellow has primary responsibility for the Japan Trilateral Forum, managing the annual Track 1.5 dialogue with stakeholders in Asia, Europe, and the United States, as well as the annual Young Strategists Forum, and other projects related to Japan and Korea. The Senior Fellow conducts original research that links the emerging debates on Asia in Europe with the policy debates in Washington DC and supports the Indo Pacific Program's efforts in building a strong network in the United States and Europe, as well as with Indo-Pacific partners. The Senior Fellow will also engage in fundraising and donor relations in support of the Indo Pacific Program's work.

Responsibilities

Design and plan the organization's annual Forum

Plan and execute annual special events in Tokyo

Identify and pursue potential fundraising opportunities

Expand the organization's work on Japan and Korea

Actively contribute to research and publications at the organization

Author concept notes, proposals, and draft budgets for new initiatives

Actively support the Indo Pacific program's other trilateral forums

Coordinate speakers and participants from the Indo-Pacific for the organization's forums

Conduct outreach to policy makers in Washington DC, as well as in Europe and Asia

Liaise with the organization's European offices

Qualifications

M.A. degree or above, required

10+ years of work experience in foreign policy, preferably related to Japan

Fluency in English. Knowledge of Asian language, preferred

Proven ability to fundraise, as well as design and implement projects

Strong management and organizational skills

Proven ability to publish in relevant journals, newspapers, etc.

Interest in expanding Korea-related research is a plus

Compensation

Salary: $125,00 - $175,000
