Position Summary

The Sr BSA Specialist of Risk Assessments position is responsible for the administration, development, and ongoing support of the BSA/AML/OFAC Program Risk Assessment for Wintrust Financial Corporation and relevant subsidiaries.  This role also includes duties related to other Enterprise Risk Assessments as assigned as applicable to the BSA Department. Through these tasks, the position provides compliance oversight of the regulatory requirements of BSA/AML/USA Patriot Act and OFAC Laws, as well as the general support of Wintrust’s BSA/AML/OFAC Program, Policies, and Procedures.

What You’ll Do


  • BSA/AML/OFAC Program Risk Assessment – The administration, development, and ongoing support of all BSA/AML/OFAC Risk Assessments (Risk Assessments) which includes the enterprise-wide holding company level risk assessments and separate risk assessments for each bank and subsidiary.   There are various phases of the process which include strategy, planning, scope, preparation, coordination, assist in the interview process with line of businesses, statistical / quantitative analysis, scoring, executive summaries, QC, etc.  Efforts include administering the BSA/AML/OFAC Program Risk Assessment.  Additionally, preparing period Risk Assessment updates and targeted Risk Assessments when appropriate. Includes representing the Risk Assessment process to audiences as needed, such as Audit/Exam etc.


  • Enterprise Projects BSA/OFAC Risk Liaison – Includes functioning as a delegate for the BSA Director with regards to Enterprise Projects captured in the Clarity Application.  Efforts include sharing information between the BSA Department and Project Teams, with a focus on communicating and understanding BSA/OFAC Risks relevant to the subject projects to support their planning and progression.


  • Exam and Audit Assistance.


  • Other duties as assigned relevant to the BSA Governance Unit.


Qualifications


  • 3+ Years of AML/OFAC Experience


  • 3+ Years Analytics/Reporting Experience


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, or other Applied Quantitative Field preferred.


  • Competent Data Analysis, Integration, and Validation and strong understanding of Risk Management, analytical, and problem solving skills.


  • Advanced Beginner Database Language Skills (pref. SQL) and Reporting & Visualization Tools (pref. PowerBI).


  • Expert skilled at Documentation, Reporting, and Communication of Risk Assessment work/subjects.
