Overview

Duties of Position:

Assist RAC Program faculty and staff in the preparation of student activities and maintenance of the lab which includes the following duties:

• Keep the RAC lab organized and clean on a daily basis.
• Identify safety hazards such as equipment malfunction, damaged tools.
• Assist in monitoring students while they perform their lab assignments.
• Help implement the rules of the program and maintain a safe working environment.
• Provide students the tools and supplies required to perform their lab assignments.
• Check the tool-kits daily and ensure that the hand-tools are not damaged and safe to use.
• Check all testing instruments, equipment and trainers on daily basis and repairs as needed.
• Assists faculty in maintaining the lab equipment and trainers in safe operating conditions.
• Assist staff when performing the inventory of the tools and supplies used in the program.
• Perform clerical assignments, such as, making copies, filing documents, etc.

Education Requirements:

In order to apply for this position, you must be a current Harper College student, enrolled in at least six credits per semester (three for summer).

Experience Requirements:

Current HVAC student recommended. Basic keyboarding skills and knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel required. Mechanical and/or technical background and familiarity with common tools required. Must be able to lift 50 pounds and be safety conscious. The student must be courteous, have an outgoing, positive attitude and be a team player.

Schedule Information:

Will determine schedule based on student's availability. Must have some availability to work during the following hours:

Maximum hours per week: 20
