Support and develop the Sales & Estimating Department while designing products, generating, and estimating projects. Assist Engineering, Project Management, Installers, and manufacturing processes to improve profitability of the company.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist in developing new market strategies -- Glass, Aluminum, and Steel projects
Work with Architects on designs and pricing to obtain Design Assist Projects and Basis of Design specification.
Sell Linel products to GCs and Glaziers
Evaluate and Design new glass and metal products to enhance and complement Linel's products
Test new designs, and support our staff for successful test completion
Educate Sales Representatives on new and existing products
Advise the Estimating group on bidding and pricing strategies
Review and compare the competition on sales and products development
Review shop drawings and assist Engineers/drafters with problem solving
Support in the design of manufacturing needs such as specialty tooling, paint line improvements, fabrication machine processing improvements, etc.
Develop ideas for product manufacturing improvement and cost savings
Design and develop ways to make installing product easier and safer
Work with Project Managers on the critical needs of special projects
Assist Project Managers in decision making and problem solving
Help Installers design brackets, lifting hoists and miscellaneous items to keep costs down and to improve competitiveness
Perform other similar or related duties as required or requested
Position Requirements:
The Candidate must possess the minimum knowledge listed below:
Master's degree, or Bachelor's degree with equivalent work experience in Engineering, or Construction Management or a related field from a four-year college or university. PE preferred.
Ten or more years of related experience in glass and glazing Industry including designing, selling, estimating, project managing, fabricating, and general business managing including marketing and designing products to meet customer needs
Strong written and oral communication skills
Ability to use computer software, including AutoCAD, Microsoft products, Outlook
Ability to self-direct and manage projects based on customer and company needs
Ability to manage and direct multiple work projects at a time
