Quality Manager

A Quality Manager plays a vital role in ensuring product and process quality within an organization. They are responsible for maintaining consistent standards and ensuring that products meet customer expectations. Here are the key responsibilities and qualifications for this position:

Responsibilities:
  1. Understanding Customer Needs: The Quality Manager must thoroughly understand customer needs and requirements to develop effective quality control processes.
  2. Specifications and Compliance: They devise and review specifications for products or processes, setting requirements for raw materials or intermediate products from suppliers. Monitoring compliance with these specifications is crucial.
  3. Health and Safety: The Quality Manager ensures adherence to health and safety guidelines and legal obligations related to product quality.
  4. Supervision and Guidance: They supervise inspectors, technicians, and other staff, providing guidance and feedback to maintain quality standards.
  5. Product Development Oversight: Overseeing all product development procedures, the Quality Manager identifies deviations from quality standards and takes corrective actions.
  6. Final Product Inspection: Inspecting the final output, they compare properties to requirements and approve acceptable products while rejecting defectives.
  7. Documentation and Reporting: Keeping accurate documentation and performing statistical analysis, the Quality Manager submits detailed reports to appropriate executives.
  8. Continuous Improvement: They actively seek opportunities for improvement and develop new efficient procedures.

Requirements and Skills:
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • SQF experience would be preferred
  • Proven Experience: The ideal candidate should have proven experience as a quality manager.
  • GFSI/HACCP experience, green or black belt certificate
  • Must have leadership skills and be able to lead a team
  • Attention to Detail: A keen eye for detail and a results-driven approach are essential.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in MS Office and an in-depth understanding of quality control procedures and relevant legal standards are important.
