Job Description:

The Senior Credit Manager is a key member of the risk and compliance management framework and acts in a dual role managing both Credit and KYC. The Senior Credit Manager is responsible for overseeing and providing worldwide credit risk assessment and due diligence (i.e. KYC) on counterparties for various departments throughout the organization.

Primary Responsibilities and Activities:
  • Manage a team of 2 - 4 credit analysts / KYC officers;
  • Perform credit review and prepare credit write-ups for local and international; counterparts (incl. financial health, strength and weakness and risk sector);
  • Previous experience working in the commodities industry is required;
  • Review transactions and provide opinion in respect to the credit risk component of these transactions;
  • Review the credit exposures and monitor their compliance with the approved credit limits and/or credit policy;
  • Prepare credit exposure reports for distribution to senior management;
  • Negotiate and manage the Company's credit insurance program (incl. multi-buyer, excess insurances);
  • Develop and improve the credit risk related policies and procedures;
  • Perform due diligence (KYC) on counterparties;
  • Develop and improve compliance policies and procedures (incl. anti-money laundering, due diligence, etc.).

Key Skills and Experience:
  • Bachelor (equivalent or higher) degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration or similar;
  • At least 5-7 years' experience in credit risk management within the commodities industry is required;
  • Knowledge of the commodity business and transactions;
  • Good analytical and organizational skills;
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure;
  • Willing to travel in North America and internationally (as required);
  • Ability to work outside normal working hours is required;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • High level of attention to detail;
  • Additional language (inc. Mandarin, Spanish, French) will be a plus, with a preference with Mandarin.
