ABOUT THE FACILITY: We are a full-service medical office laboratory that utilizes hematology, chemistry, serology, and immunoassay diagnostics.

As a member of the OnePeak team, your goal will be to keep our patients as happy and healthy as possible! This role will require you to perform a variety of tasks including, but not limited to, the duties listed below. In this position you will work collaboratively with all internal and external staff to support patient care, exhibit flexibility, and a can-do attitude. We are a wellness-oriented office, so education is VERY important! This means all staff must take time to learn about our approach to wellness and how it impacts our patients' lives, so they can speak confidently and passionately when talking to patients about OnePeak!

DAILY DUTIES:


  • Perform a full range of clinical laboratory tests in any one or a combination of the following sections of the laboratory: hematology, chemistry, serology, and immunoassay under the direction of the Lab Director or a Medical Technologist.

  • Determine the suitability of specimens for analysis. Prepare specimens for analysis and ensure sample integrity and stability needs are met.

  • Calibrate, adjust, and maintain instruments. Verify correct instrument operation using established procedures and quality control checks. Identify the cause of common problems and make simple repairs.

  • Recognize and react to indicators of malfunction. Implement corrections following protocols.

  • Perform quality controls on equipment and maintain proper records for quality control and quality assurance reports.

  • Prepare specimens for transport to reference laboratory

  • Prepare biological waste for proper disposal

  • Data entry and order entry

  • Additional responsibilities as needed or required by OnePeak Medical

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:

Education:


  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Phlebotomy Certification Preferred

  • Computer proficiency

  • Attention to detail with ability to multi-task

  • Ability to work as a team

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Ability to adapt to new processes and procedures.

Certification:


  • MLA (ASCP) or equivalent certification preferred or ability to obtain within 1 year of hire.

Experience:


  • Minimum of 6 months phlebotomy experience
