This position supports attorneys with wide variety of transactional, regulatory, and litigation matters. Oversees all stages of assigned corporate transactions with preparation of documents necessary to comply with federal, state and local regulations in conduct of assigned business activities and established guidelines in legal department.  
 
Key Responsibilities: 

  • Inputs, accesses and analyzes information using specialized legal software applications. Manages tasks and legal documents, to include utilizing specialized legal file/tracking system, setting up and maintaining legal files, processing and tracking documents and acting as intermediary between attorneys and company personnel.

  • Maintains status of payment requests and records of payments and codes invoices for payment and processes. Reviews outside counsel legal bills and utilizes legal database to track costs according to established Legal Department guidelines. 

  • Composes file summaries and status reports on pending claims, litigation and administrative proceedings and assists attorneys with legal department reporting requirements.

  • Collects and analyzes legal data, conducts investigative research, and applies legal principles, facts and evidence to appropriate business activities.

  • Oversees maintenance of corporate records such as minutes; shareholder information; corporate resolutions; database of legal entities

  • Interacts with outside counsel, insurance adjusters and company personnel to collect and compile information.

  • Assesses and organizes legal and technical documents.

Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in law or equivalent field typically required. Certified Paralegal required.  Minimum 3 years as a legal assistant and/or paralegal typically required. Commercial real estate and corporate records experience typically required.
