Job Summary:

Responsible for exterior care, maintenance and landscaping needs of the Gaylord Springs Golf Links course.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Operate turf maintenance equipment as indicated by superintendent or assistant superintendent.
  • Equipment used would include but not be limited to: reel mowers, walk behind, triplex, five gang, variety of tractors and attachments: spreader, trencher, front loader, box blade, etc., utility vehicles and attachments: fairway drag mat, spray tanks, dump bed, etc., edgers, spreaders, chainsaws, topdressers, aerifiers, pesticide sprayers.
  • Clean and service equipment and report any mechanical problems to the mechanic immediately.
  • Perform all agronomical functions required in operations of maintaining golf course including but not limited to:
    mowing of greens, tees, fairway, approaches and roughs (fertilizing, assisting with application of pesticides, culivational practices: aerification, vertical mowing and topdressing, raking and maintaining bunkers, aboricultural and horticultural landscaping duties, line of play duties: changing holes, tee markers, maintain out of bounds and hazard markers.
  • Lead and direct small groups of ground crew employees providing coaching on particular tasks as needed.

    Job Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent. College degree in turfgrass maintenance or related area preferred. Working knowledge of turf and landscape equipment required. State pesticide applicators certification encouraged.
  • Experience: Two to three years experience in turf maintenance and operation of related equipment required. Golf course turf maintenance preferred.
  • License/Certification: Valid Tennessee driver's license required.
