OfficeMax is seeking a high-energy individual to join our team as a Second Shift Lead Distribution Specialist. This position is responsible for the daily distribution activities, productivity, and quality within the assigned area(s) of a distribution facility. Responsible for and fully qualified in one or more functional areas.
-Regularly assigns, reviews, and checks work of other employees within functional area
-Provides technical, training, and problem-solving resources.
-Provides input for performance reviews and makes salary review recommendations.
-May be responsible for building security.
-Regularly contributes ideas and suggestions for improvements to the distribution process.
-Responsible for housekeeping and safety in functional distribution area(s) for which the position is responsible.
-Must understand OSHA regulations and assist with related training and compliance.
-Responsible for demonstrating a commitment to Total Quality and the process of continuous improvement, identifying and responding actively and with sensitivity to the needs of all customers and to be open and responsive to change.
Must be a full-time lead that organizes and directs workflow for distribution associates and seniors. Position typically performs duties similar to those for which they have lead responsibility. May conduct meetings to organize daily activities. Associate receives infrequent, generalized direction pertaining to definite objectives. To meet the objectives requires planning own work and the work of others and referring only unusual cases to the supervisor. Tasks are based on established procedures found both within the work group or department. The work that needs to be done varies in response to requests, as well as a variety of regular activities requiring prioritizing and scheduling of activities. Information exchanged may range from factual data to information requiring explanation of delays or decisions.
- High school education or equivalent experience.
- Requires specialized distribution training and/or a minimum of three years related experience.
- Knowledge of the operation of equipment, such as a PC/CRT/calculators.
- Ability to read, write and understand the English language and practical application knowledge of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- Good understanding and application of proper punctuation, spelling, and grammar.
- Composes basic correspondence and assists in the research and preparation of documents of a technical nature.
