Job Description:

The Payroll Quality Assurance Manager requires a wide breath of knowledge covering wage and hour regulations, payroll accounting, payroll taxation, as well as general payroll policy and procedures. This position will be responsible for the continuous improvement of the payroll process through audits, quality checks, best practices, and providing feedback and recommendations. This manager will be responsible for developing payroll policies and procedures, ensure departmental adherence to all to payroll policies and procedures, as well as develop and distribute targeted and exception reporting.

- Oversee the quality of the payroll process through analyzing and auditing data; developing and maintaining service level agreements to establish base line of effectiveness and measuring the quality of customer service and payroll results.
- Work with management team to ensure quality issues and/or problems are identified, resolved, and processes are established to prevent future occurrences
- Ensure the timeliness and accuracy of department audits. Assess and recommend to the management team any department need, process change and improvement
- Monitor and review staff efficiencies, accuracies, and inaccuracies through reporting and benchmarking
- Ensure consistencies in process, procedures, auditing, and reporting between all working units while maintaining and promoting a team approach at all times
- Identify and communicate to management team department shortfalls and recommend appropriate action to be taken
- Maintain performance for all subordinates
- Collaborate and consult with peers to identify best approach where appropriate
- Develop and maintain a secure and effective internal and external Payroll reporting process.
- Ensure strict confidentiality of all private employee information


Required Skills:
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum of 8+ years payroll experience with a medium to large company /employee base.
- 3 years managing employees
- Payroll knowledge of wage and hour, taxation, and garnishment payroll practices a must.
- Knowledge of payroll taxation in a multi state environment highly desirable
- Software experiences include Excel, Word, and SAP Payroll products highly desirable
- SAP - Cross Application Time Sheets (CATS) a plus
- SAP - Employee and Manager Self Service (ESS / MSS) a plus
