Summary
Our Ft. Lauderdale office is in need of a Technician to prepare inspection reports based on notes prepared by bridge inspectors.
General Duties & Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Prepares inspection forms, equipment and vehicles for daily inspections.
2. Prepares inspection reports using word processing software or client-supplied computer applications.
3. Prepares completed inspection reports for submittal to clients.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This is an entry-level position in inspection work that is closely supervised.
Qualifications

Education and/or Experience
High school diploma. Associates degree preferred. Requires 0 to 2 years experience with Microsoft-based word processing and spreadsheet applications. Competency with computers is required.
Language Skills
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is in an office setting, working at a desk. The noise level in the work environment is usually low. Isolated instances may require the ability to work in the field as an assistant to a bridge inspector.
Travel
On very rare occasion, the job may require travel and overnight stays to perform inspections. Travel is usually scheduled well in advance.
