To handle the overall administration and technical support of distributed server systems.
Ensuring acceptable and consistent levels of performance through optimization.
Oversee monitoring and design of tools to manage the environment effectively.
Apply all patches and system upgrades, perform configuration management of all associated software and hardware, and perform system integration testing of server operating systems, related utilities and hardware.
Work with database systems administrators, programmers, analysts, engineering, business continuity, and operations staff to ensure that effective data security, integrity, monitoring and recoverability procedures are in place at all times.
Serve as focal point for applications development / infrastructure teams for developing, configuring, deploying, troubleshooting, and performing software administration for distributed applications.
Adhere to change control and problem management procedures.
Provides leadership and work guidance to less experienced personnel.
Required Skills:
Minimum 5-10 years experience in installation, maintenance, administration, and troubleshooting of weblogic in an Enterprise multi-tiered architecture environment.
A demonstrated ability and willingness to document procedures.
Candidates should have strong technical background in the following areas:
Maintenance/administration of J2EE applications under Weblogic, Tomcat, Jboss.
Have experience working in Enterprise environment, understand development, architecture and support challenges in Enterprise.
Networking: understand of OSI model, TCP/IP, protocols such as HTTP, HTTPS, FTP, SSH, understand sockets, TCP/UDP multicast etc.
Hands-on experience with SSL certificates, troubleshooting of SSL related problems and good knowledge of how SSL works (private/public keys, CAs etc).
UNIX (Linux is a must): UNIX administration skills, shell scripting, understanding of sockets, file descriptors.
Databases (Oracle is a must): Have a good understanding on DB technologies (listeners, tnsnames, RAC).
Have very good experience with at least one scripting language/tool (Perl, any UNIX shell, sed, awk).
Have experience with version control systems (SVN, CVS)
SOA understanding and development background is a huge plus!
Bachelor's degree in computer science, management information systems, or related field preferred.
Ten or more years of experience in a client-server environment.
Experience working with complex system implementations and organizational processes.
