Responsibilities
Leadership and Strategy:
Directly lead procurement teams at each manufacturing site, providing guidance, mentorship, and fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
Develop and execute a comprehensive procurement strategy aligned with organizational objectives.
Provide strategic leadership for both direct and indirect procurement functions across multiple manufacturing sites.
Drive talent development, performance management, and succession planning within the procurement team.
2. Strategic Sourcing Excellence:
Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with key suppliers to enhance supply chain resilience and innovation.
Implement best practices in strategic sourcing, including identifying potential suppliers, assessing capabilities, and managing end-to-end procurement processes.
Oversee supplier selection, negotiation, and relationship management to secure the best value for the organization.
Oversee both direct and indirect procurement activities, ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services.
3. Cost-effective Procurement Strategies:
Drive continuous improvement in sourcing strategies to optimize cost, quality, and innovation.
Lead negotiations with vendors to secure favorable terms, ensuring cost-effectiveness while maintaining profitability for the organization.
Implement innovative procurement strategies to enhance efficiency and reduce costs across manufacturing operations.
Collaborate with finance teams to develop and manage procurement budgets, tracking and optimizing expenses.
4. Procurement Strategy Development:
Formulate and implement procurement strategies to optimize costs, enhance supplier relationships, and improve overall supply chain efficiency.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align procurement activities with corporate and business objectives.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the procurement function, leveraging technology, best practices, and innovative solutions.
Monitor industry trends and advancements to stay ahead of changes in the procurement landscape.
5. Cross-functional Collaboration:
Collaborate across departments, such as operations, finance, and logistics, to align procurement strategies with broader organizational goals.
Facilitate cross-functional communication and collaboration to optimize overall supply chain performance.
Collaborate with both corporate team and Samuel business units leveraging best practice
6. Risk Management:
Identify and mitigate procurement-related risks, ensuring continuity of supply and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies within the procurement process.
7. Policy and Procedure Development:
Develop and implement procurement policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Foster a culture of adherence to ethical procurement practices.
Education and Certifications
A Bachelor's Degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field and 3 - 5 years related experience or an Associate's Degree and 6 - 8 years related experience; or a combination of education and progressively responsible work related experience.
Qualifications
Extensive experience in procurement leadership roles within the manufacturing industry.
Proven track record of successfully leading direct and indirect procurement functions.
Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain strategic relationships.
In-depth knowledge of procurement processes, policies, and regulatory requirements.
Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Microsoft Office Applications
ERP Systems and procurement software.
Work experience in related industry is an asset but even if you do not have this, we still want you to apply. On the job training will be provided.
