Job Summary:

The Regional Equipment Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Equipment Maintenance Shops, within the Hudson Valley, to ensure alignment with the Company's vision and objectives. This includes management of shop technicians, outside vendor management, repair processes, safety awareness and an effective preventative maintenance program for the fleet.


Essential Functions:

1.Safety always wins. Ensure employee driven health & safety culture and standards are in place and effective by complying with legislation, company policies, and promoting a safe work environment.

2.Protect family and friends. Collaborate with Peckham's Safety/Environmental Department to handle incidents related to Peckham equipment; compiling incident reports that are compliant with regulatory authorities and training. Additionally, work closely with the Safety Department to ensure all mobile equipment meets company standards by outfitting them with the latest technology, such as in-cab cameras, object detection systems, and GPS.

3.Ownership and caring. Implement and maintain Peckham 5S Standards (Sort, Store, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain) in garages/shops.

4.Respect and engage. Regularly and effectively communicate with all organizational divisions and operating entities to ensure that equipment needs are met and best management practices for respective equipment are implemented, thereby maximizing availability and production across the company fleet.

5.Communicate. Ensure information regarding equipment defects are relayed timely from field personnel to fleet maintenance.

6.Committed to serve. Promote a proactive repair culture among employees that emphasizes effectiveness, timeliness, and urgency, thereby enhancing satisfaction, uptime, and productivity to support the business units.

7.Dedication. Directly manage all lead personnel and technicians including performance management.

8.Results matter. Ensure effective outsourced repairs are determined and managed by identifying cost, shop capacity/competency, and technician capacity/competency.

9.Determined. Ensure all national and local programs established through Peckham procurement are being utilized to their fullest extent.




Requirements, Education and Experience:

1.High school diploma Required - Associates Degree preferred

2.Minimum 5 years’ experience working in the heavy equipment industry

3.Minimum 5 years’ experience in a supervisory position

4.Must be familiar with the Microsoft suite of applications Word, Excel and Power Point

5.Strong communication skills, proficient use of verbal and written English

6.Valid driver’s license required, must maintain reliable transportation

7.Must have the legal right to work in the U.S.

Travel:

Weekly travel is required for this position within the Hudson Valley region. Some overnight travel may be required for training and conferences. For travels outside of one’s home plant location, travel reimbursement will be provided.


Work Environment/Physical Demands:

This job operates partially in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers. The abilities to sit at a desk, frequent walking, bending, or standing, as necessary, are required.


In addition, this position works near moving mechanical parts and heavy equipment. This position requires the ability to lift 50 lbs. or more and requires pulling, bending, kneeling, squatting, climbing, walking, reaching and driving long distances.
