POSITION SUMMARY

MELE Associates, Inc. is seeking to add a detail-oriented Counterintelligence Analyst to our National Security and Intelligence team, supporting a key customer within the Department of Defense (DoD). The Counterintelligence Analyst will be located at the Pentagon in Washington, DC, and will be responsible for a multitude of functions including using intelligence and information from multiple sources to assess, interpret, forecast, and explain a range of national security issues.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

The Counterintelligence Analyst will be responsible for fulfilling defense intelligence analytic requirements, such as providing all-source analytic support to operations, aiding in investigations, assessing and identifying CI threats to fulfill critical intelligence requirements, and more. The Counterintelligence Analyst will also research, review, evaluate, organize, and compile intelligence-related data focused on CI concerns and produce and present these findings to senior leadership and supporting team members. Essential duties may include:

  • Create threat assessment reports for all countries identified to be included in the mission as provided in the mission tasking.
  • Maintain a searchable repository of all threat assessments by location.
  • Research and write multiple types of analytical products to support both internal and external mission partners.
  • Complete requests for information across counterintelligence regional areas by a specified due date.
  • Work independently and as a team member to produce timely intelligence products.
  • Use Word Track Changes to facilitate comments and changes in products between the editing team and the government team.
  • Perform technical vulnerability and risk assessments.
  • Support the development of strategic plans and methodologies.
  • Review documents, including standards and policies, for technical counterintelligence concerns.
  • Identify, document, and recommend mitigations to security events of technical CI significance.
  • Leverage various databases, tools, and knowledge management repositories and understand how to search for and locate relevant information.
  • Review current or future programs and provide a risk analysis perspective and guidance based on the intelligence collection cycle.
  • Brief senior intelligence community leaders on CI issues.
  • All other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Active Top Secret (TS) security clearance with SCI eligibility based on a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) completed within the last five years.
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college and three years experience in counterintelligence analysis.
  • Three to five (3-5) or more years of recent and comparative work experience.
  • Must possess in-depth knowledge of Executive Order 12333, and DoD Instructions 5240.2 and 5240.05.

DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Five to ten (5-10) years of related or comparable experience.
  • Interagency Training Center Technical Analyst Course, experience with the Joint Staff Action processing system, Joint Technical Intelligence Portal, PORTICO, NSA Technical Security Analysis Center, experience working with the TSCM community and the intelligence community as a whole and working knowledge of TSCM equipment and methodology strongly desired.
