Job Description:

The manufacturing engineer is responsible for ensuring maximum efficiency of our manufacturing processes. This position uses his or her knowledge of design, processes, costs and creativity in order to work together with our team to streamline a manufacturing procedure. The manufacturing engineer also aims to increase a company’s productivity without scarifying quality. The ME creates innovative solutions to a variety of problems that may arise during fabrication.

Essential Job Responsibilities:


  • Develops manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment; conferring with equipment vendors

  • Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning work flow, space requirements, and equipment layout. This includes the design and implementation of Jigs and Fixtures.

  • Assures product and process quality by designing testing methods; testing finished- product and process capabilities; establishing standards; confirming manufacturing processes

  • Provides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs; reviewing production schedules; estimating future requirements.

  • Prepares product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends

  • Lead lean manufacturing initiatives to improve safety, reduce cycle times, improve productivity, create and find open capacity, improve process reliability, and improve customer satisfaction with respect to on time delivery, yields, and quality.

  • Develop, maintain, and deploy standard work for all processes. Work with Quality and Production Managers to help assure operator training and proficiency.

  • Learns and teaches lean principles including leading lean activities in the plant such as kaizen events, 5S process, etc.

  • Works closely with Design Engineering to implement new designs into production.

  • Works closely with Production and Design Engineering to update BOM’s to increase inventory accuracy.

 

Essential Skills, Experience and Education:


  • Bachelor degree in Engineering, Mechanical, Manufacturing or Industrial discipline

  • Minimum of five (5) years of manufacturing experience

  • Dealing with complexity, leadership, supervision, lean principles, manufacturing methods and procedures, manufacturing quality, presenting technical Information, CAD, CAD/CAM design

  • Must be self-motivated, have a high sense of urgency, and be able to solve complex situations, be resourceful.

  • Any other duties assigned by Manager

  • Valid TX DL

Essential Physical Requirements:


  • Occasionally lifting and carrying 25 lbs. unassisted

  • Occasionally pulling and pushing 25 lbs. unassisted

  • Repeated reaching over head

  • Occasionally kneeling, stooping, bending and turning at waist

  • Occasionally climbing ladder above 2 ft.

  • Able to wear PPE when working in production area: safety glasses, steel to shoes, etc.

Required Work Hours and Schedules:


  • Monday thru Friday 7:30 AM – 05:00 PM

  • Additional overtime as needed
