JOB LOCATION: Wellmark YMCA
HOURS/DAYS SCHEDULE: Mornings, Evenings and Weekends
HOURLY PAY RATE: $12.50-$15.25/hour

POSITION OVERVIEW:
As a Travel Team Coach, you will have the opportunity to deliver professional customer service and relationship building skills to create a welcoming environment at the YMCA. The individual will be responsible for planning, managing and directing teams and for ensuring the safety of participants.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Hire, supervise, train and direct assistant coaches. (Masters and Site Coaches only)
In conjunction with supervisor, prepare season training plan/themes/focus and develop team events
Plan, write, schedule, and direct all team practices and meets. (Masters and Site Coaches only)
Maintain proper records, team lists, and reports as needed
Address member concerns by appointments and/or phone conversations
Relate to individual members on a professional basis at all times
Monitor and maintain equipment
Ensure safety of participants by enforcing policies and disciplinary rules
Report specific problems or needs to supervisor or designated staff person
Create an environment that welcomes all types of swimmers from varying levels and backgrounds
Communicate with the team and staff information regarding team activities, meets, goals and daily training plans/themes
Execute the practice plan as intended by the Head Coach. (Travel Team Coaches only)
Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor or designated staff person
Demonstrate and support the objectives of the Association as embodied in the mission statement and values
