Our client is seeking a Principal Program Manager - Infrastructure in Burbank, CA or Orlando, FL.



Role Description



The Principal Technology Program Manager is an expert in the Program Management field and is responsible for delivering highly strategic and highly visible large transformation technology programs within Disney Enterprise Technology and its partners. The Principal Program Manager is responsible for developing a consolidated view of the program, and for program deliverables including calendars, cross-project dependencies, risk analysis, stakeholder coordination, and regular communication of status. This individual will work closely with a multi-disciplinary, multi-function group of technologists and business professionals requiring experience communicating across diverse audiences, effectively defining and utilizing escalation paths, and updating executive stakeholders.


• Program and Project Management Delivery
o Accountable for acceleration and expert leadership of direct cross-functional project teams through highly visible and highly strategic large transformation programs, which often require considerable resources and high levels of functional integration and interaction with the project sponsor team from start to finish
o Create full-scale master program and project schedules and communication plans consisting of multiple projects or components
o Ensure proactive scheduling of key deliverables, milestones, and deliverable tasks
o Establish program and project financial forecasts including resource plans and other expense plans
• Vendor and International Team Management
o Oversees and aligns with 3rd party vendor and international team's PM to ensure deliverables are complete in a timely manner
o Demonstrate flexibility to align with international time zones as necessary
o Evaluates and harmonize vendor's timelines/schedules and cross-project dependencies to ensure alignment with overall program objectives
o Drives escalations to remediate risks/blockers impeding vendor's forward progression, as necessary
• Financial Management
o Responsible for finance/budget responsibilities for programs of high complexity and large budgets (>$100M).
o Responsible for driving the outcome of the Project Approval request and managing RFP processes.
• Status Reporting
o Prepares program/project status reports to demonstrate project overall health, key performance indicator (KPI), risk, issues, accomplishments, next steps, and escalation requests
o Prepares executive-level project status presentations and dashboards
• Communication
o Leads with practicality and wisdom in the midst of competing priorities and diverse personalities. Operates as an independent and dynamic program leader. Highly adept at influencing without direct authority
o Facilitates project team meetings effectively, ensuring the desired outcomes are achieved
• Project Management Lifecycle Disciplines
o Expert knowledge of the integrated systems lifecycle development utilizing different - and sometimes - multiple Project delivery frameworks (e.g., agile, waterfall, hybrid, etc.)
o Expert at using modern work management and collaboration tools (Smartsheet, JIRA, MS Project on the Web, Confluence, SharePoint/Teams, Slack)
o Manages project document repositories are maintained and updated
• Guidance in Program Management Discipline
o Serves as subject matter expert and "go-to" person for guidance in the program management discipline
o Oversee Project and Program Managers either directly or through mentoring, training, and coaching (both on hard and soft skills)



Skills & Requirements


Education Requirement: STEM Degree
• 12+ years experience of progressively complex program management experience
o 5+ of these years as a proven Program Management Leader and Decision-maker
o Must come from cross-functional technical software and/or technical hardware delivery environment
o Must have enterprise experience within a matrixed organization
• Strong Financial management skills including:
o Preparing detailed monthly project forecasts, managing project forecast processes, and conducting project retrospectives.
• 7+ years experience leading a small to mid-sized Agile development team that was diligently applying SAFe or Scrum principles, practices, and theory
o Agile delivery tools such as Jira, Rally, Version One, etc.
• Advanced experience organizing teams through Agile ceremonies, e.g. product backlog refinement, preplanning, planning, daily standups, sprint reviews, retrospectives
• Must have advanced knowledge of Smartsheets
• Prior experience with infrastructure/ construction builds
• Experience with Network deployment experience
• Experience with Layer 1 Cabling
