Overview
Research at the OHSU SOM will include not only basic bench work in the laboratory but also learning how to design experiments:
Independently using instrumentation and performing basic laboratory techniques such as pipetting and buffering solutions with a pH meter.
Generating and analyzing data from experiments.
The summer will include lab meetings and learning how to keep a lab
Responsibilities
Enrolled in or on vacation from or is otherwise registered in High School, OR Undergraduate Program (minimum 6 credit hours)
Demonstrable record of reliable attendance, punctuality and proven successful performance
Demonstrated ability to read, write and understand written and oral instructions in English.
One year of high school-level sciences such as biology or chemistry
Know how to use basic instrumentation in a laboratory and calculate basic math equations used to make buffers
