The Depot Operations Technical Specialist is responsible for supporting imaging, update testing and managing the hardware within the depot. This position troubleshoots issues and makes repairs on equipment in the depot. If off-site technical assistance is needed, the Technical Specialist is responsible for the dispatch and logistics coordination for off-site service. The Technical Specialist trains new hires as well as evaluates business needs and recommendations solutions.



Essential Functions:


  • Support imaging, update testing, and manage physical and logical hardware inventory within the depot.

  • Manage depot processes using ServiceNow and other depot tools.

  • Load operating system on computers using standard deployment and build procedures.

  • Prepare and ship hardware to correct addresses.

  • Collaborate with technical staff, Asset Managers, and end users to expedite the laptop build process.

  • Prepare returned hardware to be repurposed or retired.

  • Troubleshoot issues and/or errors.

  • Dispatching and managing the logistics of off-site support.

  • Train new employees on repair and system-based tasks.

  • Evaluate business needs and recommend solutions in accordance with standards.

  • Evaluate and implement process improvements.

  • Assist in inventories, parts ordering, and shipping handling duties to support the depot services.

  • Maintain regular attendance.

  • Other duties as assigned by management.


Required Education, Knowledge, and Experience:



  • Must have an Associate Degree in a related field or 3+ years of relevant technical work experience.

  • Advanced working knowledge and experience related to inventory management and equipment repairs.

  • Must be familiar with and knowledgeable in Microsoft Office.

Physical, Mental Requirements and Work Environment:



  • Must be able to lift and carry at least 45 lbs.

  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time.

  • Must be able to walk for long distances.

  • Must be able to work at a computer for long periods of time.

  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Manual dexterity to use keyboard to input information.


Conditions of Employment:



  • Must pass pre-employment (post offer) background check and drug screen.

  • Must maintain a valid driver's license.
