Job Description:

Location: Richardson, TX

Description: Our client is currently seeking a Transport Engineer in Richardson, TX.


This job will have the following responsibilities:

  • Responsible for timely creation and action on individual Capacity Creation Requests (CCRs) to initiate US domestic network transport builds across both ULH and OTN Mesh networks.

  • Perform detailed equipment engineering for network augments.

  • Researching capacity, making reservations and developing all of the specifications required for installation forces to properly install, turn-up, inventory, and configure the equipment,

  • issuing purchase orders, creating applicable diagrams/ drawings, and ensuring vendor delivery.

  • Ensure that work meets all applicable engineering, financial, planning, and operational standards.

  • Develop Bill of Material and place orders for network equipment, rack, and hardware requirements.

  • Define cable requirements, create cable running lists, and order all cables.

  • Manage, input, and update central Network Inventory Databases







Qualifications & Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or five or more years of work experience.
  • MUST HAVE extensive logical (not physical) knowledge of SONET and Long-Distance transport systems


  • Working knowledge of the transport network, to effectively initiate and Engineer network projects.


  • Understanding of space, power, fiber and diversity and how they will affect their planned projects
