Job Description:
JOB DUTIES:
•Implements, prepares, and maintains survey database, plats, reports, records and correspondence.
•Supervises and participates in the preparation and examination of plats, maps, field notes, conveyances and other documents necessary in the acquisition of right-of-way and associated easements.
•Abstracts records, surveys, deeds and other relevant data to accumulate all possible information necessary to locate property monuments; supervises the re-establishment of any corners not monumented in the original survey.
•Engages in land surveys involving government corners, section corners and lot corners to determine sub-divisional and property lines for use in determining suitable descriptions for conveyance documents.
•Performs calculations to determine location relationship of property corners to the center line of proposed highway improvement project and prepare plats and descriptions depicting same.
•Instructs personnel in the basic techniques and practices of land surveying.
•Assists agency in contracting. Performs related work as required.

Requirements/ Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications: High school education plus eight years surveying experience of which three years must be in a responsible position as a subordinate to a licensed land surveyor; or Bachelor's degree in surveying, engineering or other approved curriculum from a school or college approved by the Board of Examiners for Land Surveyors plus four years of surveying practice in a responsible position. Registered as a land surveyor in Nebraska.
Other: Valid driver's license is required. Must spend time in the field and traveling in all types of weather.
