Eskenazi Health serves as the public hospital division of the Health & Hospital Corporation of Marion County. Physicians provide a comprehensive range of primary and specialty care services at the 327-bed hospital and outpatient facilities both on and off of the Eskenazi Health downtown campus as well as at 10 Eskenazi Health Center sites located throughout Indianapolis.

The Focus of the Narcotics Treatment Program (NTP)




The NTP (Narcotics Treatment Program) provides a unique opportunity to provide comprehensive addiction services to people with co-occurring substance use and mental health concerns.Team members work with these individuals to develop recovery skills and reach their recovery goals through counseling, peer support, care coordination, group, and personalized treatment planning.




Where You Fit In




The Clinician ensures access to needed services which includes individual and group counseling to empower the client in their recovery. In collaboration with the Medical Director, nursing, and treatment team, the Clinician formulates, develops, and revises treatment plans, BPSA's, ANSA assessments, and other necessary client assessments.



What to Expect



This role provides some flexibility with its schedule, allowing many staff to take advantage of their afternoons. The clinic is open 7 days a week 5:30a - 2p.This role is eligible for the 4-day, 32-hour workweek (paid for 40 hours per week plus benefits) pilot at Sandra Eskenazi Mental Health Center.





Am I Qualified?




• Master's degree in Human Services field
• Candidates with a Master's of Social Work must have Licensed Social Work (LSW) and be working towards Licensed Clinical Social Work (LCSW)
• Candidates must have submitted a plan to obtain licensure at the soonest date possible within a maximum allowed of three years
• Valid Indiana driver's license that meets Eskenazi Health's driving policy requirements

Essential Functions and Responsibilities





  • Embraces, understands, and operates under the Recovery Model, including AIDET (Acknowledge, Introduce, Duration, Explanation, Thank You) and the spirit of motivational interviewing (MI), and follows the levels of accountability

  • Completes biopsychosocial evaluation (BPSE), integrating information gathered by the team and developing the integrated diagnostic summary; based upon the BPSE and in consultation with the treatment team, prepares Clinical Treatment plans, dates the treatment plan at intervals determined by guidelines, and consults with client, family, and treatment team throughout the process

  • Manages a caseload of clients identifying therapeutic, rehabilitative and case management needs; engages other team members in meeting these needs as indicated

  • Performs a variety of individual, family and group therapeutic interventions (as demonstrated competency allows) utilizing evidence-based practices

  • Provides quality case management services as indicated by client need

  • Monitors client progress and reflects this in the clinical documentation

  • Evaluates and updates the treatment plan at intervals determined by guidelines, consulting with client family and team in this process

  • Completes documentation of activities and written reports in an accurate and timely manner

  • Identifies community resources and assists clients in their access to these resources

  • Provides indirect service to external agencies and community through consultation and education

  • Interprets and applies service and billing procedures according to client needs; completes billing according to guidelines for timeliness and accuracy

  • Alters activities and behaviors to reflect and ensure adequate care which is appropriate to the age of the clients served

  • Advocates for clients to ensure access to needed services, which include developing community relationships and resources

  • Meets agency standards of timely completion of all documentation

  • Meets agency standards of client service hours

• Strong interpersonal skills with ability to be both clear and concise in written and verbal communications
• Demonstrates solid knowledge of psychiatric/addiction diagnoses and understanding of their impact on behavior and all life domains
• Willingness and ability to work cooperatively in a multidisciplinary team
• Ability to interpret and apply complex directives, information, and regulations
• Crisis intervention skills
