Leica Geosystems is part of the worldwide Hexagon Geosystems Division of Hexagon AB and operates in San Ramon under the legal entity of Leica Geosystems Inc., a product development site for LIDAR-based (point cloud) Reality Capture software. In the US Leica Geosystems Inc. has more than 300 people employed. The product development team in San Ramon has a size of 35+ employees.

The main product of the San Ramon organization is a significant portion of the Leica Geosystems Reality Capture software portfolio, including the market-leading point cloud processing software. It is a family of software modules that provides the widest set of work process options for 3D laser scanning projects in engineering, surveying, construction, public safety, media & entertainment, and related applications.

Summary:

Product Manager is responsible for cross-product dataflow and integrations within customer workflows as delivered by the software group of the Reality Capture division of Leica Geosystems. The Product Manager will coordinate with the established software QA team to plan, develop, and implement end-to-end solution and integration testing and be the point-of-contact for technical compliance specifications according to local, national, and international standards in cooperation with the corporate compliance team. This is an essential second line of defense role and informs, develops, evaluates, and monitors the effectiveness of internal controls for our ecosystem of interconnected products.

You will:

Ensure uncompromised software quality by:
  • Defining success criteria in collaboration with other product managers and QA teams
  • Expanding test scenarios from product-centric (e.g., testing one feature) to workflow-centric (i.e., dataflow spanning several software applications of a full End-to-End solution), including within our Cloud Platform (HxDR.com) & SaaS Solutions (Reality Cloud Studio)
  • Identifying quality control deficiencies, evaluate their risk effects, and communicate information and resolution/mitigation plans
  • Validating identified quality control weaknesses through quality checks, compliance testing, reviews, and examinations, and ensure they are tracked, evaluated, prioritized based on risk, responded to, and closed
  • Identifying, assessing, and testing end-to-end solution and compliance risks related to new systems, processes, products, and services
  • Aggregating and monitoring compliance testing and quality control results for trends, and escalate moderate to high-risk concerns to the appropriate levels of leadership
  • Communicating the testing and compliance methodology and results to associates, management, clients, and auditors.

Fulfil product management responsibilities by:
  • Liaising and collaborating closely with product management, development, and QA teams across locations (California and various locations in Europe), facilitating communication and information flow between stakeholders on a daily basis
  • Acting as the software Product Management representative for 3rd Level Support Cases during coordination with Support teams, QA teams, and Development teams.
  • Participating in new product development processes in order to provide solution integration and compliance guidance to product management and development teams.
  • Participating in cross-functional team management & collaboration to maintain stable and consistent cross-product dataflow within the product ecosystem
  • Defining Epic/Story requirements and prioritize the backlog in collaboration with other product managers to ensure quality and dataflow is maintained and tracked within a 12-month rolling roadmap and 12-36-month roadmap vision
  • Understanding and applying the corporate and division strategies to deliver best-in-class reality capture solutions
  • Acting as ambassador and recognized expert to:

• Enable Sales and Support teams through training, support in customer engagements, etc.
• Represent the end-user in discussions with R&D teams (i.e., be the voice of the customer)
• Represent the portfolio of products during exhibitions and webinars
  • Building expertise of cloud-based standards and compliance

Skills & Experience

Language:
  • Required: Fluency in English

- with proficient ability to synthesize and communicate complex ideas and/or scenarios, to all levels of stakeholders (other product managers, software developers, QA team members, Support teams, business directors, executives, and customers)

  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills, including ability to lead teams that do not directly report to you
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines

  • Understanding of product design and process design

Experience & Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in management information systems, engineering, or similar
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience working in 3D CAD/BIM software, reality capture software, and survey engineering/civil or MEP engineering/AEC/Plant is expected
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience working in software Compliance, Support, or QA is preferred but a strong practical background in reality capture software is acceptable

Computer Skills:

Required:
  • General experience with reality capture software applications (e.g., NavVis IVION, FARO SCENE, Cloud Compare, Cyclone REGISTER 360, Nubigon, PointCab, Cintoo, etc.)
  • General experience with CAD software applications (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit)
  • General experience with project management tools
  • MS Office suite

Preferred:
  • Experience with Leica Geosystems reality capture software suite (Cyclone REGISTER 360, Cyclone 3DR, CloudWorx plugins, Map360, etc.)
  • Experience with Autodesk suite of CAD applications (AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, Inventor)
  • Experience with ArcGIS Pro
  • Experience with Unreal Engine and/or Unity
  • Experience with NVIDIA Omniverse
  • Experience with project management tools Atlassian Jira and Confluence, Miro
  • Experience with Salesforce Service Console (for Support cases)
  • Experience with software QA/testing processes

Technical Skills:

Preferred:
  • Understand the software development process, including defining feature specifications, defining expected results of a feature implementation for QA processes, collaboration with a software development team, and collaboration with software QA team
  • Familiarity with Agile methodology

Additional requirements:
  • Expected travel (including international): 3-6x per year
  • Required: Passport in good standing

Compensation:
  • Permanent position with benefits
  • Salary and bonus to be defined according to profile and experience with an expected range of total compensation to be between $130k - $180k/year
