The I&E Technician is responsible for performing corrective & preventative maintenance on I&E systems as analytical equipment, control elements, advanced hardware (computers, telemetry & etc.), logic networks and other related equipment.
JOB FUNCTIONS AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ability to troubleshoot and maintain GE PLC(Programmable Logic Controller) system
Ability to troubleshoot and maintain GE Cimplicity control system
Troubleshoot computer and communication issues
Knowledge of instrumentation(transmitters, control valves, meters, etc)
Monitors and recognized dangerous and/or emergency conditions within the process and performs procedures necessary to remove the condition or shutdown the process/facility in order to protect personnel community, environment and equipment.
Work with coworkers in the response to emergency situations requiring coordination, equipment or plant shutdown, and/or evacuation
Recognize malfunctions in individual equipment and perform maintenance as necessary to correct problems
Operates and performs activities in accordance with applicable regulations and procedures
Writes repair work requests for routine and major maintenance that cannot be handled as part of normal operations within a CMMS (MAXIMO) maintenance reporting system
Performs other work related duties as needed
Utilize proper Lockout/Tag out operating and safety procedures
Read, understand, and red line wiring diagrams and schematics
Must have a working knowledge of P&IDs, electric schematics and technical manuals and data
Ability to work under DOT, OQ and PSM regulation
Diagnose malfunctioning systems and components using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
MINIMUM ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Two-year associates degree in electrical maintenance or five years electrical maintenance experience in the commercial or petrochemical industry
High school diploma or GED.
Valid driver license.
Able to work in close quarters, work while kneeling, squatting, sitting, climbing, and standing.
Must be proficient in the use of all Microsoft Office software modules, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and others
Willing to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and respond to call outs as needed to fulfill business objectives and the ability to work abnormal work shifts to meet plant conditions.
Knowledge and understanding of the National Electric Code
Must be able to pass background check, drug screen, and physical
Interpersonal communication skills are required in order to interface with all affected teams and internal and external customers
Regular and reliable attendance is required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Ability to troubleshoot and maintain GE PLC(Programmable Logic Controller) system
Ability to maintain and troubleshoot electrical and instrumentation problems
Ability to maintain computer system, as well as, communications(ethernet, fiber)
Experience working as a self starter, and ability to work with peers in collaborative efforts
Willing to become part of the Emergency Response Team
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Ability to lift, push, and pull at least a minimum of 50lbs.
Ability to work in changing climate conditions.
Able to work in close quarters: i.e., work while kneeling, squatting, sitting, climbing, and standing.
