Job Description:

Primary Responsibilities:



  • Ability to read electronic schematics

  • Ability to troubleshoot test systems

  • Supports product development plans (schedule, product cost, meeting design inputs)

  • Provide detailed and accurate estimates for electronics test equipment estimates.

  • Develop and perform operational, maintenance, and testing procedures for electronic products, components, equipment, and systems.

  • Direct and coordinate activities concerned with manufacture, construction, installation, maintenance, operation, and modification of electronic equipment, products, and systems.

  • Develop and maintain documentation, such as technical hardware specifications, test procedures, SOPs, etc.

  • Execute ECN/ECO to implement engineering changes.

  • Participate in lab activities such as system bring-up, system testing and debugging, stress/long duration tests, etc.

  • Other duties as assigned.




Required Skills:



  • 2+ years CAD experience with Pro Engineer desirable

  • Experience with design of experiments and application of scientific method is very desirable

  • Familiarity with metrology concepts and associated equipment is desirable

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills

  • Proficient with typical PC office applications, including MS Office.

  • High quality workmanship and attention to detail are a must

  • Strong hands on background

  • Able to multitask and adapt to changing priorities.




Education/Experience:



  • Minimum of 2 -3 years' experience

  • Associate degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Computer-Aided Design, Drafting and Design Technology, or equivalent

We will take into consideration an experienced applicant in lieu of fulfilling the education listed above



Preferred:



  • Preparing engineering sketches and specifications for construction, relocation, and installation of equipment, facilities, products, and systems.

  • Supporting Test Software and database development and maintenance

  • Designing and develop board level test equipment and test programs

  • Conducting design reviews and FMEA/DFMEA analysis.

  • Experience with Programmable Test Equipment, Digital, Analog and RF Circuits

  • Software Knowledge: LabView, C, C++, CMD, Tera Term, .NET

  • Knowledge of test sequence engines like NI TestStand

  • Software repository usage like: SVN, GIT

  • Knowledge of RF circuitry or basic theory

  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills

  • Familiarity with Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Test (DFT).

  • Experience with simulation tools.

  • Experience with various lab equipment, such as real-time oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, protocol analyzers, logic analyzers, etc.

  • Electronics failure analysis to root cause conclusion

  • Communication protocol/ hardware interface knowledge, such as RS232, RS485, USB, SPI, I2C, Flash, ADC/DAC, WiFi/Bluetooth, and Cellular.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Design for EMC/EMI to meet agency compliance such as UL, FCC, CE

  • Electrostatic Dissipative (ESD) Steel Toe Shoes




Physical Requirements:



  • Ability to work with your hands

  • Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

  • Ability to lift and/or move 25 pounds, and up to 50 pounds

  • Basic computer skills

  • Basic reading, writing, arithmetic (shop math), and comprehensive skills

  • Proven capabilities using hand tools

  • Production knowledge, mathematical skills, problem-solving skills, observational skills, communication skills, analytical skills

  • Basic mechanical skills

  • Use of computer system software

  • Teamwork orientation
