Job Description:

We are seeking a Production Supervisor in our Philadelphia, PA facility. This role ensures customer and team member satisfaction by providing direction and support necessary to achieve corporate goals in the production area.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities


  • Responsible for operational efficiency and overall effectiveness of production efforts
  • Provide both leadership and direction to staff to accomplish corporate and departmental goals and objectives by directly supervising team
  • Maintain staff by selecting, orienting, training employees and developing personal growth opportunities
  • Accomplish staff job results by coaching, counseling and helping to resolve employee issues and disputes
  • Interface with other departments throughout the plant to coordinate and support activities in order to meet objectives
  • Provide hands on instruction in manufacturing techniques when necessary. May demonstrate new processes or methods to ensure proper training
  • Understand and apply retouch skills at defect reduction stages when necessary


Education & Experience

  • 2+ years college education or highly skilled trade in such areas as engineering, optics technology, or management
  • 3+ years of experience working in a precision manufacturing environment with proven ability to manage workflow, ensure quality and meet deadlines
  • Supervisory experience with management/ supervision/ oversight of hourly personnel, technicians and engineers preferred


Skills

  • Must have proven ability to organize, supervise and train others
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing standards, including ISO 9000 or AS9100 and Lean Six Sigma
  • Communicates well at all levels, directs training needs and leads others in setting and achieving goals
  • Demonstrated ability for leadership, technology development, and transfer support in a changing environment
  • Clearable to Secret Level
  • Strong fault isolation, problem solving and analytical skills

Manufacturing Environment.

Physical Requirements

Primarily an engineering design function with physical requirements.

Safety Requirements
