We are seeking an experienced individual to head up our Accounts Receivable and Credit department. The successful candidate will possess strong interpersonal and leadership skills with an emphasis on effective communication both inside and outside of the Company.Strong ERP and Computer (Excel) skills are also a must. The Credit Manager will have a leadership role in setting credit policy and implementing and overseeing the credit policy to ensure that our customer's outstanding debts are collected in a timely and efficient manner. Summary duties will include the credit application process, direct collection efforts, AR aging tracking, managing customer on / off credit hold and daily communications with sales personnel regarding customer credit status and release of orders. This individual will lead the weekly AR collection call which includes the Director of Sales, CFO and CEO.
Team:
The Credit Manager will oversee 2 senior collections specialists, and 1 staff collections specialist. The credit manager will report to the Director of Accounting.
Responsibilities:
Monitor customer aging, accounts on hold, and collection efforts, payments received and address any issues or concerns in a timely manner.
Regularly update management on collection activities and the status of accounts receivable, providing comprehensive progress reports.
Employ effective communication when contacting clients regarding overdue invoices, aiming to prompt timely debt settlements and resolve billing discrepancies.
Oversee/Manage the distribution of statements to wholesale customers and coordinate follow-up communications with late-paying customers.
Identify opportunities for optimizing debt recovery outcomes and enhancing customer satisfaction, contributing to ongoing training initiatives to bolster team performance.
Conduct thorough examinations of outstanding invoices/debts, delving into historical data to discern payment patterns and trends.
Maintain meticulous records of account statuses and collection efforts, ensuring data accuracy, timeliness and completeness
Communicate daily with the sales team members regarding customer credit status to ensure timely processing of customer orders
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, or related field.
7 years' experience in collections, 5+ years' experience managing a collections team of at least 3 members.
Proven leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate, coach, and develop team members to achieve departmental goals and objectives.
Embrace a patient and customer-centric approach, adept at managing stress and handling challenging situations professionally, while fostering a positive team environment.
Possess exceptional verbal and written communication skills, coupled with adept negotiation capabilities, facilitating effective interactions with clients for invoice payment and debt resolution.
Exhibit the capacity to analyze data, detect trends, and devise strategies for debt recovery, with strong problem-solving skills to address billing discrepancies and customer credit issues.
Strong Computer Skills including ERP experience and intermediate Excel skills.
