Position Description:
Position Overview: Research, negotiate and purchase cost-effective and qualified equipment, materials and/or services required for various substation, transmission, or distribution projects through appropriate procurement systems and processes. Projects may vary from Engineering only (E), Construction only (C), Procurement & Construction (P&C), Engineering & Construction (E&C) to Engineering, Procurement & Construction (EPC).

Duties & Responsibilities
Under minimal supervision:
• Comply with purchasing and contract management instructions, policies, and procedures
• Analyze market and delivery systems to assess present and future material availability
• Participate in the development of specifications for equipment, products or substitute materials as required
• Locate vendors of materials, equipment or supplies, and qualify them as approved suppliers/subcontractors for use within organization
• Solicit bids utilizing standard RFP processes for all vendors, suppliers and subcontractors
• Prepare bids received for selection and approval process
• Negotiate contracts and formulate policies with vendors, suppliers and subcontractors
• Prepare and process requisitions and purchase orders for project procurement and subcontract needs
• Work with management to resolve supplier/subcontractor grievances, and claims
• Review purchase orders, purchase requisitions and contracts for conformance to company policy, commercial requirements and conformance to project requirements
• Complete and maintain accurate procurement records and files
• Arrange for disposal of surplus materials as required
• Effective planning, organizing, scheduling and monitoring of work activities

Position Requirements:
Requirements
• Direct experience in the procurement of materials and/or services
• Understanding of advanced concepts in procurement of materials and services
• Demonstrated computer skills (i.e.; MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, etc)
• Ability to represent the company in professional industry activity
• Demonstrated research skills
• Demonstrated written and oral communication skills
• Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills
• Demonstrated organizational and time management skills
• Ability to deal with a variety of individuals from various socio-economic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds
