As Director, Special Projects fully dedicated to the ECLPS+ program you will manage one of the most sensitive, highly visible and comprehensive projects within the overall program. You will lead planning and execution of this entire work effort, and have sole accountability for building out a rating, pricing and product development strategy, where we have yet to define the degree of redesign, simulation environment/technology to allow comprehensive analysis, as well as determining the timing and prioritization of integrating a new rating and pricing engine, a critical ECLPS+ deliverable.
 
Responsibilities:
 

  • Develops a detailed business case for implementing Ratabase (rating engine), Blaze (pricing engine), ECLPS+ Table Management (data), and is able to clearly articulate the business features, benefits, and impacts.

  • Leads the development for each capability from concept, to design, to full implementation based on detailed business requirements.

  • Understands existing workflows and processes for each capability and collaborates with various customers and stakeholders during the design, elaboration, testing process and obtains buy-in along the way.

  • Ensures the scope and deliverable for each capability aligns with the business case, and delivers the business benefit expected from various customers and stakeholders.

  • With limited supervision leads working teams, identifies issues, mitigates in order to prevent risks, removes obstacles, raises issues when needed, and owns high-quality deliverables.

  • Represents the ECLPS+ program as the Enhanced Rating, Pricing & Product Lead and works with stakeholders to identify complex interdependencies with other business units.

  • Shares information and effectively communicates ECLPS+ scope, risks, and issues between parties, as well as escalates any dependencies which may have a negative impact on the ECLPS+ program.

  • Supports the various business units w/ ECLPS+ requirements and data necessary to assess gaps and business impacts, brings forward solutions, as well as shares business case findings developed by various stakeholders.

  • Develops an enhanced rating and pricing roadmap outlining the impacts and business needs for migrating from existing legacy rating and pricing engines to go forward systems/technologies.

  • Conceptualizes immediate and long-range needs of the company with respect to project mission. 

  • Understand business objectives as they relate to project goals, and defines project scope based on business needs & priorities.

  • Provides business leadership through collaboration, problem solving, and participation in project & business meetings, stakeholder engagement sessions, and operational/executive steering meetings.

  • Is a key decision maker and actively communicates to project and ECLPS+ program team (and externally) to provide transparency to progress/status.

  • Actively engages resources both within the project, as well as, in the broader organization when needed.

  • Support vendor request for proposal (RFP) & selection process.

  • Research & deliver Business Requirements, and work collaboratively with IT partners to ensure understanding of Business Requirements.

  • Support Quality Assurance (QA) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT), as well as defect/enhancement prioritization, and go now, go later process in conjunction with customers and stakeholders.

  • Collaboratively work with Business & IT Project Managers to ensure quality delivery as required, and project status is reflected accurately for roll-up to Program and stakeholders.

 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 7 - 10 years progressively more responsible experience in a project/program management environment with exposure to project planning, simulation, modeling, capital budgeting, cost benefit analysis and information systems development required.

  • Bachelor's degree required; graduate degree preferred.

  • Project Management experience in Insurance or Financial Services preferred.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; able to clearly and concisely communicate with team members and executive stakeholders applying tact and situational awareness.

  • Ability to quickly grasp new concepts and technologies and adapt to changes and demands in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  • Great attitude in high pressure situations with ability to negotiate and influence effective outcomes and drive results.

  • Strong work ethic and track record of taking on additional responsibility; self-starter and self-directed with a "can do" outlook.

  • Outstanding organizational skills, detail-oriented with strong time management skills and focus on achieving results with the ability to deliver on multiple projects concurrently in a team environment and maintain appropriate documentation.

  • Relationship management experience in a cross-functional project team environment with a demonstrated ability to bring peers and partners together for the successful implementation of initiatives.

  • Solid influencing and negotiation skills with the ability to influence peers to deliver milestones on schedule and with high standards of quality.

  • Ability to balance tactical and strategic thinking and processes with demonstrated skill at translating strategy into specific goals, tactics, action plans and deliverables and effectively communicating across broad audiences.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to build business cases and analyze results.

  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and Project).
