Overview
Provide effective employee engagement and consultative services to inside sales, and field sales in both the residential and business service sales channels in order to achieve a customer-centric workforce. Provide direct consultation and guidance to build leaders, improve employee engagement, and create a positive work climate. Engage HR Leaders, Centers of Expertise, and Shared Services as appropriate.
Leadership Development
Partner with the HR Leaders to support business imperatives, enhance performance, and drive employee engagement initiatives.
Act as an advisor and facilitator to the management team by thoroughly understanding the business issues within the designated departments and designing HR strategies to resolve identified business issues.
Provide subject matter expertise with the facilitation of employee focus groups, chat sessions, and skip level meetings. Provide meeting recaps to local management along with recommendations for action & follow-up.
Acts a resource to diagnose HR needs and problems, to recommend solutions and to deliver high quality programs that result in the Area's improved performance and retention.
Provides guidance to line leaders in the use and application of employee handbook, policies, and practices.
Customer Centric Workforce & Positive Workplace Practices:
Provide guidance and project management expertise for the employee survey (CredoSpeak). Assist leaders with analyzing the survey data and conduct chat sessions to understand the context of feedback (CredoListen). Assist in designing action plans to ensure results are achieved and aligned with business objectives (CredoAct).
Develop and support the implementation of new employee engagement initiatives aimed at enhancing the employee work experience and enabling supervisors to build stronger team relationships.
Supports employee communication agenda by assisting with the prioritization of information that needs to be shared within workgroups. Coordinates, if appropriate, the cascading of information/materials to assigned areas.
Implements regional HR policies, procedures or programs.
Provide support of the performance management process (Comcast Talent) including facilitating the calibration process and providing training on how to write competency-based development/performance improvement plans, sales improvement plans, corrective action documents, and performance appraisals.
Proactive Labor Relations:
Provide subject matter expertise in the areas of employee engagement and labor management relations. Consults with leaders and employees on employee-relations issues in order to ensure fair and equitable treatment, expedited resolution, and legal compliance.
Able to conduct investigations in response to employee complaints, employment litigation, and workplace violations independently.
Follow standard protocol for investigations and develop comprehensive reports, risk assessments, and recommendations for area management.
Lead local grievance process activities (Comcast Listens).
Participate in unemployment claim hearings. Work with outside vendor to ensure company holds the best defensible position prior to hearings. Ensure maintenance of appropriate historical information for future reference.
Other:
Actively manages all leaves of absences and workers compensation claims.
Must have punctual, regular and consistent attendance.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills:
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in human resources or closely related business field. Master's degree preferred.
7-10 years HR generalist experience with seasoned consultative skills.
Significant experience, in a professional capacity, supporting a sales organization and call center employees.
Highly effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with demonstrated presentation skills.
Demonstrated capabilities in employee relations, focus groups, and labor relations.
Professional HR certification (PHR or SPHR) preferred.
HR-Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Strong knowledge of general HR policies, programs, methods, practices, and procedures related to Employee Relations, Performance Management, Total Rewards (Compensation/Benefits), Workforce Staffing, etc.
Strong knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and Local laws and regulations related to the HR function.
Highly developed consultative, influencing, and negotiation skills.
Demonstrated ability to market to the rest of the organization the value of the HR function.
Aptitude using HR Management Systems (SAP preferred) and proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Consistently delivers on projects above what is expected (e.g. high achiever).
