Location: Washington, Washington DC
TASKS:
• Provide field-based planning/coordination support and structure for assistance monies dedicated to u.s. Government short-term assistance efforts.
• Ensure U.S. short-term assistance is integrated and coordinated with broader diplomatic/donor efforts, minimizing duplication/redundancy.
• Attend diplomatic/donor coordination meetings as directed by COM.
• Provide feedback to Washington funding offices and counsel to Post’s stabilization secretariat on available funding mechanisms, methods of leveraging/enhancing assistance an collaborative efforts/options available to Post within Bishkek’s diplomatic corps.
• Ensure commonality/continuity of funding priorities in the run-up to the October 10, 2010 elections. Travel to U.S. Embassy Bishkek for 95% of time is envisioned.
Education: A Masters degree is required for this position.
• At least five years Assistance Coordination Experience
• Have a minimum of five years experience in Interagency/Whole-of- government background.
• Russian Linguistic Skills (preferred)
• At least two years of Central Asia Experience (preferred) Must have an active Top Secret clearance. Must be available and willing to travel to high-threat areas such as Kyrgyzstan.
