Position Description
 

  • Support strategy team in helping drive revenue growth across the WSJ franchise

    • Specific focus on advertising revenue and related projects  

  • Perform strategic analysis, chair task forces, and develop business cases/ presentations for new business efforts and initiatives

    • Examine growth opportunities across products and platforms

  • Assist with general management of 400-person integrated sales team, providing support on rate structure, negotiations and client contracts

    • Support sales efforts against entire product portfolio including: The Wall Street Journal, WSJ.com, Marketwatch.com, WSJ Europe, WSJ Asia, WSJ. Magazine, SmartMoney, and several others

    • Develop creative pricing solutions in order to find attractive rates for clients

    • Supervise execution of custom contracts for largest advertisers

  • Manage relationship and P&L of 3rd party remnant business

  • Long-term project evaluation

    • Calculate ROI for various proposed News Corp capital projects

    • Play intricate role in Long-Range Strategic Planning process

  • Lead quantitative analysis that will inform on media industry trends impacting WSJ

    • Analyze internal and competitive performance data, and identify opportunities for revenue growth, with recommendations on how to execute

  • Spearhead ongoing prospecting of new business

  • Collaborate with Sales, Layout, Production, and Finance teams on day-to-day sales operations

  • Manage internal reporting and sales metrics to present to various constituents

 


 
Position Requirements
  • Superior quantitative skills with critical attention to detail.

  • Background in management consulting preferred.

  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; demonstrated leadership.
