We are currently seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our Energy Services division in our Cambridge, MA office. This position would a part time position of 24 hours per week with a potential for future full time in the event that we can sustain the workload.
Candidate will be responsible for producing high quality electrical engineering design deliverables (with the assistance of design and/or drafting personnel). Primary focus of position will involve detailed design drawings and specifications.
Additionally some construction support, planning studies, and support of design/build issues will be required.
Occasional travel to domestic locations will be required for field assessments, construction administration and start-ups.
Candidate will also be involved with electrical design of water and wastewater treatment facilities using NFPA 820 guidelines.
Desired qualifications include 12 plus years experience with:
- Design of low voltage and medium electrical distribution systems
- Design of signal and communications systems
- Design of conduit & cabling systems to support SCADA, fire protection, life safety, and building automation systems
- Design of hazardous area electrical installations
- NEC and NFPA codes 52, 58, 59, and 59A (basic understanding).
- Some CADD proficiency (AutoCAD 2006, 2008, 2009 or 2010)
- Experience with high voltage electrical engineering preferred.
- Experience in Water/Wastewater Plants, Natural Gas Utility Plants, and Power Generation Facilities.
- Experience as a Lead Electrical Engineer with budget and schedule responsibilities
Candidate must have, at a minimum, a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and a PE registration as well as have strong electrical engineering skills, ideally in the natural gas, power, and/or water/wastewater industries.
