Jones Apparel Group is currently looking for a Training Specialist that will report to the Vice President of Learning & Development. This position is responsible for the design, development and delivery of professional and leadership development programs to improve organizational effectiveness and support the goals of the Jones Apparel Group.
Position Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Learning Team and Business leaders to assess company-wide developmental needs to drive training initiatives
- Design, develop and deliver professional development and leadership development programs for all levels of the organization.
- Apply "adult learning principles" in course development and delivery.
- Conduct individual and group needs assessments to identify organizational gaps and provide recommendations.
- Deliver structured training programs or workshops as required.
- Facilitate train-the-trainer workshops for new training programs as required.
- Revise and update training programs, as needed.
- Assist the Learning Team in the implementation and administration of training programs.
- Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts to develop courses focused on a skill or skill set required in a specific role/position.
- Develop and distribute on-going training communications to the organization.
- Develop methods for measuring training program effectiveness.
- Assist Learning Team in assessment of current programs and planning of training initiatives.
- Other duties as assigned.

Required Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree required.
- 2-5 years experience in a corporate training environment
- 2-5 years experience in all aspects of instructional design and training delivery
- 2-5 years experience designing and facilitating leadership courses for the classroom
- Proven track record in training and development.
- Corporate training experience in retail, wholesale or sales industries preferred.
Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Knowledge and experience in Adult Learning Theory and all phases of Instructional Design
- Excellent project management and organizational skills; ability to multitask
- Communicating with all levels of management and working in a team environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Well-developed presentation and facilitation skills.
- Strong computer skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Publisher, Internet)
- A self-starter who works efficiently and effectively with moderate supervision.
- Ability to work effectively independently and in a team environment
- Strong organizational skills with the proven ability to manage multiple priorities at one time.
- Flexibility and the ability to adapt to changing situations quickly and effectively.
Desired Skills:
- Experience with e-learning technology and developing blended learning solutions
- Training certifications such as ASTD, DDI, Situational Leadership, Achieve Global, MBTI, etc.
Travel:
- Approximately 25% as needed.
