Position Overview:

Position will directly report to the VP, Head of Credit. Primary responsibility will be assisting the new and renewal business underwriting pipelines as well as assisting in the underwriting itself. Additional responsibilities will be assisting the team with managing the overall risk of the portfolio relating the third-party collateral issuers securing our transactions. This includes, but not limited to, insurance company financial review, third-party bank analysis, and brokerage account investment analysis.

What you will be doing:



  • Understand the risk assessment analysis of all aspects of life financing transactions and assess the credit worthiness of:



    • Borrowers – Trusts, Individuals or Companies.


    • Guarantors


    • Banks


    • Insurance Carriers


    • Agents & Brokers




  • Analyze credit and financial information of individuals and businesses to determine the degree of risk associated with the extension of credit. 


  • Generate financial ratios for purpose of evaluating applicant’s financial condition. 


  • Perform collateral analysis of current and proposed credit requests.


  • Perform risk management and clearly communicate understanding of risks and credit exposures to senior management


  • Communicate and assist with credit decisions and credit memorandums (within established credit authority) with the business units


  • Assist with the preparation of department presentations for the Company


  • Understand and perform portfolio loan positions


  • Review policy illustrations for collateral valuation

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent


  • 3-5 years of relevant experience


  • Proficient in Excel
