JOB TITLE: Production Coordinator
REPORTS TO: Director of Performing Arts
SALARY CLASSIFICATION: Hourly Full Time, 32 hours

General Description:
The Production Coordinator will assist the Director of Performing Arts in coordinating all audio-visual aspects of Nelson Hall, including sound, lighting and stage equipment, as well as routine maintenance and inventory of the equipment and physical area of the theatre. Production Coordinator will be responsible for orienting visiting production companies, fielding technical questions for artists and staff, and for the overall support of the artistic components of Nelson Hall productions, as directed. Tech Coordinator may be asked to assist in a variety of production duties, from set building and stage design to stage management of in-house productions.

Essential Job Functions:
1. Coordinate all aspects of technical riders for Nelson Hall productions, including but not limited to: sound and backline, sound engineer, piano tunings, lighting cues, follow spot, stage equipment, stage plot and securing required props.
2. Determine necessary technical supports, such as lighting, sound, staging, and special needs, for events and performances in advance of production dates and submit estimates for approval.
3. Work contracted performances as directed by Director of Performing Arts, complying with technical checklist and keeping director informed of changes or technical issues immediately.
4. Monitor and perform routine maintenance on Nelson Hall sound and lighting equipment and recommend replacements and upgrades as necessary.
5. Coordinate stage assembly and breakdown, ensuring that piano and all equipment is moved and set up safely and according to production schedule.
6. Maintain event calendar on Team App to schedule stage crews for load-in, load-out, parking and auxiliary in-house Nelson Hall events.
7. Coordinate and create timeline for sound checks, rehearsals and breaks for all productions.
8. Submit a post-show technical report after each major series performance.
9. Orient visiting productions to safety and technical aspects of the theatre.
10. Submit quarterly updates on all technical issues and equipment.
11. Respond to inquiries by artists and technical directors for scheduled Nelson Hall productions.
12. Provide technical support as necessary for resident and community events; to volunteers for Sunday service; to staff using the Multi-purpose room or Nelson Hall for functions.
13. Work closely with Director of Performing Arts in the oversight and management of all technical aspects of Nelson Hall productions.
14. Provide general organization of Nelson Hall stage and technical equipment, keeping stage , backstage, and tech room neat and reset after all productions.
15. Work with Director of Performing Arts to expand and grow the performing arts repertoire for Elim Park.

Work Area and Working Conditions:
Technical booth in balcony of Nelson Hall; backstage and storage areas of theatre.Dark or dimly lit working conditions at times during productions.Moderate to high noise level during performances.Well ventilated but sometimes warm balcony area.

Entry Level Qualifications:
1. High School graduate or equivalent.
2. Experience with theatre sound and lighting equipment.
3. Musical or theatrical background preferred.
4. High level of proficiency with basic computer skills, preferably Apple products.

Physical Requirements:
Must be of good physical and mental health.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, kneel, sit and climb stairs.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to climb tall ladders and/or enter crawl spaces to work on technical equipment.
May need to lift and/or move up to 50lbs of equipment.

Equipment to be used:
Stage lighting (ETC lightboard)Sound system in Nelson Hall (microphones, Audio Technik speaker system, digital snake and biamp processor)Occasional use of incoming mixers and miscellaneous theatre sound equipment.Mac computer, Google docs for sharing reports, Outlook, iMovie, iPads.

Key Accountabilities (with or without reasonable accommodation):
Coordinating technical requirements for Nelson Hall shows and communicating schedules to theatre manager.Working sound and lighting for select Nelson Hall shows as directed by the theatre manager.Inventory and upkeep of Nelson Hall sound and lighting equipment.Work with incoming artists regarding technical riders and requests.Periodic reporting of technical status to the theatre manager.
