Summary:

The Construction Materials Testing Supervisor will provide construction materials testing support for various Energy and Renewable Energy projects in Texas and New Mexico. Primary responsibilities include: assist with supervising construction material laboratory personnel, supervising personnel in the field, performing materials testing in the lab and field as necessary.

Your Role:


  • Organize, coordinate and supervise personnel working on construction materials testing projects as assigned by the engineer.
  • Review engineering project specifications with the engineer and field personnel.
  • Review analytical laboratory data, field and laboratory test results and submit to the engineer for review;
  • Prepare and review construction materials testing reports for delivery to the engineer/client within time and budget;
  • Supervise/mentor and hiring of construction materials testing staff.
  • Perform field inspections or audits as needed to ensure quality and support the overall project;
  • Project scheduling for field staff;
  • Perform lab testing and eventually maintain oversight of geotechnical laboratory operations.
  • Oversight of geotechnical-related construction monitoring and testing;
  • Develop work plans, reports and review proposals for various types of construction materials testing projects;
  • Interface with clients on a periodic basis;
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:


  • Minimum associates or bachelor's degree in science or engineering-related discipline is recommended.
  • 5-20 years of related experience in the area of construction materials testing and soils laboratory.
  • Knowledge of ASTM standards for construction, including standard soils testing, concrete testing
  • ACI certification in the fundamentals of concrete and materials is a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft office applications;
  • Knowledge of GINT software;
  • Candidate must also have the ability to manage and lead project tasks. Must possess client interaction and organizational skills.
  • Candidate must be able and available for travel and possess a valid drivers' license in good standing.
  • A Pre-employment drug screening in compliance with state regulations is required.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record without restrictions.
