Primary responsibilities
The Boat Trials Technician role is an on-site role and will be responsible for testing mechanical function of production-line boat builds within the Patapsco River. Daily tasks include:
trials of newly built boats coming from the production line following proper evaluation and tracking procedures (operation of chase vessel, operation of production-line vessel, documentation of checkouts)
support for boats (mechanical troubleshooting, forklift and crane operations, post-operation procedures)
of boats for shipment (long-storage engine preparation, shrink-wrapping, final kitting)
Candidates should expect to occasionally participate in on-site technical support for delivered products. Typical travel is < 10% and within the United States.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate for this role is a technical individual desiring to start a career in the maritime industry and willing to work as part of a fast-paced team. The candidate must be willing to cross-train on various responsibilities to support high-rate production. A positive attitude, trainability, and competency to follow instructions are essential. The candidate must be a U.S. citizen and must be able to pass a background check.
