Role- Windows /VMware Administrator
Location -Houston TX United States.
Job Responsibility
The Senior VMWare System Administrator shall have strong proficiency in the installation, configuration, and management of VMWare clusters using vSphere v6.5 and above supporting greater than 5000+ VMWare Virtual Servers with SRM, vRealize Operation Manager, vRealize Network Insight, vRealize Log Insight, Zerto, Veeam, Turbonomics.
Responsible for leading and managing the administrative and design tasks for the virtualized & Microsoft server infrastructure
Deploys, configures, and maintains VMware infrastructure. Plans and manages workloads, projects, and other administrative tasks associated with the VMware & Server team.
VMware Administrator would be responsible for handling VMWare L2, L3 tickets and Tasks such as VM Commissioning, and VMware Tools upgrade.
To provide technical support to clients at all times, and must respond promptly to issues reported by clients, conducting root cause analysis and going through various testing scenarios for thorough resolution.
Develop and maintain operational documentation and specifications on system builds, disaster recovery, and standard operating procedures.
Manage & Administration of Disaster Recovery using SRM, Veeam, and Zerto tool.
Good Understanding of shared storage technologies including SAN, NAS, Fiber Channel, iSCSI, and NFS.
Manage and administration of DELL / Cisco UCS / HP h/w and Blade servers
Primary responsibility to deploy patches with ESXi Servers on time.
Drive root cause analysis and provide feedback to improve future customer architecture changes.
Drive customer-escalated issues to closure by providing workarounds and fixes on time.
Enhance customer satisfaction by responding to all customer-filed issues specific to VMWARE & Windows and providing relief either through self or by driving visibility of the issues upstream to ensure they get fixed.
Improve product supportability and serviceability by actively participating in new design development to provide feedback to drive increased stability of VMware and Windows platforms for enhanced customer satisfaction.
An ability to learn new technologies quickly Good time management skills with strong documentation skills.
Good communication skills both written and verbal.
Administration of DNS, DHCP, WINS, VMware/Hyper-V and related components
Identify opportunities for efficiencies in the work process and innovative approaches to completing the scope of work
Provide on-site support at the data centre for infrastructure maintenance activities
Working knowledge in Scripting and Automation
Patching experience in SSCM, WSUS, Shavlik Protect/ BMC BladeLogic
Work with Local & Global Teams
Perform in 24 x 7 environment in shift roaster and attend calls whenever assigned
